I’ve got to admit, Autumn has never been my favourite season. This is purely for the reason that it marks the end of Summer days and light nights.

I still get that uneasy feeling in the pit of my stomach that I used to have as a school girl when the calendar page changes to September. The garden flowers start to fade, the nights draw in and there’s a chill in the air. ‘What could possibly be good about Autumn?’ I used to wonder to myself.

But as I’ve got older, I’ve learnt that actually, there’s no need to lament the loss of the old season, but instead embrace the newness of the next.

So now I look forward to crunching through the crisp leaves, admiring their vibrant colours, taking in the pink and red sunsets and snuggling into cosy wool and cashmere layers as the first frosts set in.

Of course the highlight of Autumn for most, especially the children, is towards the end of October when it’s time for Halloween and Bonfire Night. Both events heralding the start of a season of celebrations, of course culminating in Christmas.

Little faces excited to dress up as witches and vampires to go trick or treating, and eyes filled with amazement as they watch a colourful explosion of fireworks, makes me realise that life would be dull with just one season.

If, like me, you have outgrown trick or treating for sweets, and would much rather have home accessories instead, then we have a fifteen per cent discount across the store* with code treat15.

I hope you enjoy and embrace Autumn!

With my best wishes
